As our Year 12s finish their final exams, Imogen and Darcy provided some insight into their hopes for their own futures, and for the future of South Australia.

Imogen Ingham – Head Girl, ÐÓ°É

Describe Pembroke in five words:
Diverse, inclusive, community-driven, aspirational, encouraging.

How will SA thrive in the future?
The establishment of SAHMRI has opened up a multitude of opportunities for significant advancements in health and medical research within South Australia. Additionally, sectors including space, renewable energy, defence technology and creative arts are all undergoing demonstrable growth which will contribute greatly to the economic prosperity of the state.

How do you hope to contribute to the future of your community?
In the future, I hope to contribute to my community by studying and being involved in the medical sector, an area which I am passionate about. More imminently, I wish to volunteer and fundraise for charities such as Canteen due to the personal connection I have had with families and individuals affected by cancer.

Darcy Davitt – Head Boy, ÐÓ°É

Describe Pembroke in five words:
Pembroke builds respectful, informed citizens.

How will SA thrive in the future?
South Australia’s unique history as a leader in social policy and innovation stems from 1970’s Premier Don Dunstan’s visionary foundations, establishing SA as a globally recognised leader in arts and innovation. Our creative, cultural and entrepreneurial spirit is re-emerging through Lot-14, with future opportunities in science, innovation and industry.

How do you hope to contribute to the future of your community?
Meaningful contribution to the future comes through reconciling our past; hearing the lessons of our Elders; celebrating difference and creativity; and advocating for a humanely shared planet where respect and equality flourishes. Through educational and intellectual pursuits, I’ll build my knowledge and understanding of the global community, contributing to mine.
